So I just finished 48 good rounds of 9mm Luger after picking up new Lee gear from Henry at Budget Shooter. All went well except 2 rounds, one was slightly shaved brass and the other was my wife trying to powder and flare a round with a bullet already in place... ooops.

Now a couple of questions.

1. Is there a trick to eliminate or reduce static on brass and plastic and or power? A few grains always stick to casing after dumping on to scale.

2. On a reject load how do I safely discard casing with primer in it? I will guess de-capping is a bad idea but I don't wanna toss it in garbage either.

1. Try wiping with used dryer sheet
2. I just deprime it real slow.

Henry is a great guy, got my Hornady LNL and all the accessories from him.
 
If I need to get rid of a case with a live primer, I put it in my gun and shoot it off. But it is safe to deprime it, just where glasses in case by some strange chance it goes off
 
Budget

I've got a whack of stuff coming from Henry as well! Just curious, what "lee" gear did you go with? I ordered the classic 4 hole and just wanted to find out how people were liking it.
 
For static, use a used Bounce sheet.
I keep one in the hopper of my powder measure when
I'm not using it, and wipe things down with it prior
to using it.

To decap a live primer, just go slow. Without an impact,
the primer will not go off. Wear safety glasses, just in case.

I got the Lee Turret Press deluxe kit with Auto Index. 9mm Pistol die set (deluxe). Reloading Manual, Lee safety prime kit. The Turret press it came with a scale but it's fussy and hard to use. I suggest an electronic scale.

So far the turret press has been fantastic cranking out pistol ammo pretty quick and consistent. I can remove the auto index when I am just decapping and cleaning primer pockets. To early to tell the durability of the press - so far 150 rounds since setting it up on Saturday. Shot 50 this morning with 1 FTF... bad primer? or perhaps I forgot the power in that one?!?!?

I think I might even like reloading more than shooting :D

if you didnt have a primer in it you would be getting out a squid rod and hammering the bullet out of your barrel, so either a light strike or bad primer

Did your kit come with the Pro Auto Disk powder measure? If it did and you follow the instructions, you should have no need for a beam scale.

I DO check the charge weight about every 30-40 rounds when using the Auto Disk type measures though. Never had a light or heavy charge yet.

Yup, auto disk included in kit. I am finding that the charges seem quite consistent. I also found the charge seems to be lighter than what the reload manual states for the disk number. I went up one size on the auto disk but was still slightly under starting load. Still shoots fine though. I am charging with Hogdon Titegroup.
