Had a great time with Dad down in Brooks this weekend.
Dads game is really coming along. Most of his events are just under 90. Lats year they were just under 70.
As for me....
Saturday. All the stars were in alignment.
I ran 123 straight (non consecutive)
I ran 73 straight (Consecutive)
98/100 in singles (Division winner) 3rd place
90/100 Handicap (Overall champ) And it cost me a 1/2 yard in distance
86/100 doubles that sucked but I was beat and sun burnt by then
Sunday..
Reality sets in
80 something in singles
and a 64 in Handicap (PUKE) (GAG)

This game makes me laugh, just when you’re on top of the world you come CRASHING down.

Sat night we had a great BBQ put on by Ron from the trap/Sporting clays club. Open bar, lots of food
Spent the night listening to dad get up something like 99 times complaining about cramps in his legs. Finally fell back asleep at 7:30am thinking I could get 2 hours worth of sleep. Dad wakes me up at 8am saying he is bored. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
I could have slapped him
A great time was had by all
So now I have my 25 in row and my 50 in a row badge!! Also the Rep from Winchester was there. When he found out I had hit my 50 he gave me a nice looking Winchester hat.
As for the Calcutta.. Catch this.. I was the first one chosen.(Wild card) UNFRIKEN BELIEVABLE. There were guys like Ron McConnell and Allan day there. (These guys are a couple of the best in Canada.) I was just floating. (Till Sunday... GAG PUKE)
I ran into a fellow who is close to his 300,000 registered target. Man that’s a lot of lead.
Great sport
Great people

Jamie

Congratulations on your "First 50" , and resultant wake-up call the next day !(stupid game )

... now shake it off and move on to your first 100 ! :D

Have fun, lots of fun - & keep your head down and eyes wide open on the targets, but remember, now matter what the score - or how big the win
.... coffee's still the same price at Timmy Ho's tomorrow morning ! ;)

Walter.
Thanks. Saturday was a good say. And shooting with Dad is a ton of fun. Hopefully my son or daughter enjoys it as much as I do. Getting dad out to the range was like pulling teath at first, now I cant keep him away.
The whole shoot is fun. But its the people who show up that make it such a great place to be. Brooks throws a great get together. Hopefully we can make it this fall.

Thanks
Jamie

Beretta Boy. When I missed that 123 shot (or 73), it felt like the world had been lifted from my shoulders. I wasn't upset, I didn't get mad, I just smiled and felt better. I didn't realize how much pressure I was putting on myself.
Next stop 100!!

Jamie:

If I can be the "Devil's Advocate" with an assist to getting there ....

FORGET about "counting targets" ... that's the referee's/scorekeeper's job.
Just concentrate on your shooting, cause you obviously ARE doing a lot of things right. One of these days the "100 straight" will be announced to all that need to know ... and if you're the last one to find out you did it - all the better - it means your focus was where it should have been - on the targets !!!

Enjoy all that goes with it ... you're already "in the zone" and of the right frame of mind.

Remenber what was going right for you on Saturday ... when you were well-rested ... and remember what happened Sunday when you weren't. You now know what the cost of that was to your shooting ! A good night's sleep and a clear head goes a long way to a good score - if that's really what you want to do ! Never seen a top shooter come out "HOA" after starting-out hung-over with virtually no sleep the night before. Party AFTER the Shoot !

Cheers BB

Beretta.
I aggree 100% with all that you said.
When the big shoots come this summer I plan on getting a bit more serrious about the whole thing.
Thanks
Jamie

Jamie:

Go for it ... biggest tip : "Focus on the Target", break one at a time, and don't pay any attention to what happened previously ...or about the target after this one .... just break 'em, one at a time. If you really want to get into it, start taking your "practice" a little more seriously too ... cause if you can't do it in practice, chances are you can't do it in a Shoot either ! You're shooting against yourself, no one else. ( and yeah, leave the mid-shoot partying to others ! ) The beer always tastes better when you win !!! (After shooting's over
.. of course ! ) :D
