First Ammo Through 10/22

Hey everyone, I just bought a new 10/22. Is there a certain type of ammo that I should be running through it for the first few times firing it?

I’ve been told that there’s a special kind of ammo that has a higher copper content (or something like that) that helps lubricate a new firearm.

Is there any truth to this?

Thanks!

just shoot what you can get out of it . I've shot many 10-22 rifles over the years. I prefer copper plated bullets . but basic lead will do . look at all the 22 ammo for match target shooting . basic lead bullet . not plated if I'm correct . and big bucks .

be careful who you listen to . go to your range and test fire several different types of 22 ammo . see what it likes best . if you buy a scope for it spend al least $200 . don't buy a crap scope . have fun and be safe.
