First and last dealing with Marstar!

Yeah, so, no point then. Just mocking someone. Got it. ####ty service is acceptable in your world. That's fine for union workers. In private business, people take their business elsewhere. And with the internet, we get to read other people's experience with companies. And while you're having a love-in that 6 months is acceptable, me and a bunch of other people have taken our wallets to the competition. And I didn't have to deal with bad service like the OP is talking about. If you don't care, go ahead and deal with people who place no value on your business. Some of us do care, and choose not to do business with companies that don't value the money I've worked hard to spend.

Oh, so you've called John @ Marstar, and heard his side of what happened? Great, I'd love to hear all about it, because here I thought we were just bad mouthing people that weren't here. Did he make it clear that he doesn't care, that he places no value on business, that they just like giving bad service?

My dealer was shot in the head, serving in Afghanistan, and has trouble getting through the day. The brain just isn't the same. Six months is not acceptable, he would agree. You call him and tell him what's what, I didn't have the heart, as I was on the couch both times he was wounded. You set him straight.

Hour 1:
By the time I put down the mouse to place the order, I heard a noise on the porch. I was thrilled, my order was here! Imagine my disappointment when I realized it was Jehovah witnesses trying to save my soul. After scaring them away with offers to come inside and wrestle for a while, I've been sitting by the window for an hour, though it feels like a lifetime. Does Marstar not feel my pain? Do they not realize there is nothing on TV, and no new threads on CGN other than whining? I don't know why they treat me like this.

Hour 2:
I don't even remember what I ordered, it's been forever. While I have been waiting, the Canadian dollar has fluctuated several times, mostly gaining value. I could have bought more with my dollar, if I had waited, and ordered from someone else. That is probably part of their scam. Currency speculation. I feel anxious and a little used. I would make myself a sandwich to distract myself, but I'm starting to feel nauseous. I bet I'm not the only one.

Hour 3:
Still nothing!!!! I don't think this is even legal. I should call VISA and tell them about this fraud. It probably has been going on for years, and I might be the only one brave enough to speak up. I have written a letter to the Prime Minister, and will fax it as soon as I can find his home office fax number. I can't believe this could happen in Canada, after what we fought for in two world wars!!! I thought I saw a delivery truck, but it turns out the people up the street are moving. Good riddance, when I went up to tell them about my troubles, they took no interest, and didn't even put down the couch.

Hour 4:
I feel listless, and ambivalent about life in general. The birds have vanished, and it feels colder. Seasons show signs of change, but still no Marstar order. The only thing keeping me going, is the fire of hate inside me, for Marstar, the internet, the people of Ontario, and Greeks. The moving people up the street were Greek. Marstar is probably a Greek company, and that's why they didn't care. They all stick together.

I don't know what you are doing for a living, but if you are not a stand up comedian you missed your vocation!!!
This was the highlight of my week..... couldn't stop laughing. Thank you.

If you can't match Amazon in terms of their ability to get common goods to your door in a couple of days you should just get out of business.

Purely one of the most interesting and funny post ever. Cheers!!!

I am upset that in 3 hours John hasn't responded. Could be because its way after 5 when normal people call it a day or he's actually got a life .

A lot of people on this board with no clue regarding business.
No business is the same, different circumstances and business models everywhere.

If you are truly worried about expected delivery of a product you should check prior to ordering.

I quite often wonder about the age of some of the people posting and how much life experience they have.

From what I have read in this post I think the OP has a problem, not the dealer.

Just my personal opinion for what it's worth.

Well they do answer their phones, and do respond to emails but my overall impression of them is poor.

I bought one firearm, ~$3200 from them, and it will be the last thing I ever buy from them.

There are much better sponsors on this site than Marstar.

New to ordering online from gun retailers probably. In the rest of the world, for everything else, ordering online doesn't take two weeks to ship. If I order a gun from you in the EE and you take two weeks to ship, you're getting negative feedback - as you should receive. And as this guy just did for Marstar. There's no excuse for this - you're selling stuff online, get it shipped. "I'm busy" is a weak excuse.

The last two orders I bought from TradeExCanada, they shipped same/next day and I received it the day after that. Just like it's supposed to be.

hey, everyone screws up. If so, address it. If you're can't do your job routinely, then expect to get called on it publicly. It's one reason why I won't ever ever buy from Canada ammo. I've seen too many threads (many deleted) that complain about long wait times. I order online, the reasonable expectation is that you're shipping within 24 hours. I don't care if YOU choose to wait, the rest of the world chooses not to AND it's not normal behavior - it's poor customer service in any industry even if it's commonplace in gun retailers. You're too busy to put in some overtime to sell what you're selling, expect to get called on it publicly.

I've no idea if that's Marstar or not. I do know it's commonplace in this space, and that there's lots of folks that seem to be willing to defend this kind of inexcusable behaviour in a business.

Just having fun. Hey, I totally have different expectations about delivery times when I order a firearm from what is essentially a small guy as compared with ordering a blu ray from what is a TITAN of industry.

I too have different expectations from the small guy, I expect them to move faster. I've ordered air conditioning parts for my car, phoned in the order at noon to a specialist is a different province, by 5pm the next day the box was on my doorstep, sent by Canada Post Xpresspost. That is their usual service, they have done that several times, so it's not a one off fluke.

Again....S&J, OST, Wolverine, etc.....all at SHOT, some are not even open for business until Jan 20th. Sit tight, your guns/parts are in the mail....
My 3 year old son has more patience then some of you #######s.

Love it. :)

I placed a $1400 order with Marstar on January 3rd. I received a bunch of repetitive 'confirmation' emails which never mentioned anything about shipping times etc.

I didn't hear anything from them so I called in today, 2 weeks later, to be told that my package will be 'rushed' out for shipping on Friday.

Had I known Marstar usually takes this long to process and ship an order I would have taken my business elsewhere.

I hope that this quality of service - or lack thereof, isn't a reflection of their quality of products, however, I can only imagine this is the case.

My only criticism for MajorBeh is that you should have gotten Marstar to give you an expected shipping date - maybe you did, but you do not mention it.
Other then that, I hear you. It would seem that too much of the "Advertising Money" ( what I call the sponsors of this site ) get a free pass for their
bad behaviour around here. There seems to be an attitude among many of the members of this site that the "Advertising Money" deserves our patronage
and loyalty, even though they have done nothing to earn it and in many cases, done less then nothing to keep it. My own personal experience with
the "Advertising Money" of this site is 66.66% negative and 33.33% positive. Now if these number were indicative of all my online shopping experiences with
non-CGN related retailers, then it could easily be assumed that the fault is my own. Since most of my online shopping experiences with non-CGN retailers is
generally speaking quite good, then one has to wonder what is encouraging the bad attitude towards customer service within the "Advertising Money" community.

I must say however, that there are some very good retailers to be found through this site; it would just seem to cost me an awful lot of money to find them. It has
gotten to the point where I am seriously considering doing all my major purchases through local retailers only. Sad but true.

I only made one order from marstar, and it was my last. They "forgot" to send 3 cases of ammo and when I asked them wtf it was "oh sorry, we'll send it when we get more cuz now we're out." And the gun I got turned out to be ####ed. Didn't even bother addressing it with them based on their initial response......

I've probably purchased from the majority of major sponsors on this board and marstars the only one I won't order from again.

Well I've been waiting 35 days for a vz 58 parts kit maybe it will show up one day. If you want fast shipping try GP Tactical. I placed an order at 10pm and it was at my door less than 48 hours later.
