Finally started my first AR lower build!!

AR Diary

I was going to get the whole rifle built but decided to build with the help of a couple of people (technical info only)
I'm the last person on the planet who would normally do anything mechanical due to my inability to comprehend that type of stuff lol
Main reasoning being this is the best way to have an understanding of my rifle which is important to me.
If I could figure out how to add photos from my phone to here I would also do that..
I'm still new to the wording of the parts so be gentle ....

Day one

Put in the pivot pin with the aid of my MANIX 2 only got one minor scratch and took about 5 minutes, functions correctly
Put in the Magazine release catch using a pen only and that also works.

So far so good, one cosmetic ding and two parts attached and functioning.

If you're happy, we're all happy for you.

I always recommend that newbie builders review several YouTube instruction videos before starting. I did this _after_ my first build and got tips that would have saved me some trouble and scratches...

I bought a lower and a parts kit to technically be an AR15 owner just because... I don’t super like ar15’s, but I wanted to join the club. My 45/70, 6.5, 30/06 or .375h&h are traditional looking, but to me much scarier guns in the right hands. One day they will be the scary high capacity sniper rifles if we don’t stand together.

If I build it, I’m going to make a minimalist/light weight 7.5” .300 blackout. I could like one of those. I want it to kinda look like a smg and shoot more fire than Bullet.

Thanks I'm basically done Just have a Magpul trigger guard on the way to fit then that's my first ever build completed.
Came out pretty clean with just a couple of very small dings.
Couple of questions
Which Magazines are recommended? I'm looking at Pmags if I can find some
Which case is recommended for travel to the range?

Keep the MANIX away from your receiver if you dont want to scratch it up LOL
Use a small punch 1/16 size to push that detent in to install the pin next time.
