Hello

Just did my first batch of handloads and I want to confirm something.

When I shot, the report seemed louder then with AE ar223 ammo.

I assume, this is because the AE use a much faster burning powder becaus it's *designed* for shorter barrel ar15...

I was loading varget load data as is: 25gr varget pushing a 60gr Hornady v-max varmint tip. Seated at 2.260 seated at 2.260 oal.
Shooting out of a 26 In BBL.

The recoil was basically the same, the POI was about the same as the AE ammo. There was no pressure sign on the brass,no hard extraction.

Anyway, does my theory of having a slower burning powder mean louder report make sense?

The hand loads were pretty accurate down to 0.55moa. Pretty rewarding to see such result in home made ammo!
