First bayonet buying help required

After not getting any responses in the Edged Weapons forum, I'd thought I'd try here. This is going to be my first bayonet that I am buying. I am thinking of buying a M1 Garand Bayonet from a fellow CGN'r. I was wondering if the bayonets had a date stamp for year of manufacture? Is there anything I should be looking for on the bayonet? Anything else I should be looking for that I may not have mentioned? The one I am looking it does have the flaming bomb and AFH marks that are on the WWII bayonets.

Ensure that is has not been polished or sharpened, as those bring the value down significantly.

If it does not have a flaming bomb and few or small markings, my guess it is a Post-WW2 Italian made one.
