Oh how the waiting hurts!

Just finished applying acraglas gel to the stock of my marlin HMR. Did all the preparation according to the directions. Now just have to wait and see if i welded my action to the stock! :runaway: I did put on several coats of release agent, so time will tell! The consistancy of the gel is pretty nice! I haven't tried anything else, but it was easy to apply to the stock and spread around. I cleared parts of the stock out with my dremel and cleaned everything up!

If this works, next up is my TOZ-78! :D

Sigh, what a hobby.. First come the rifles, then came the reloading, now comes the horror shop gunsmithing and tweaking! :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana:

Ahh, the bedding is nothing, it will turn out fine! Just wait until you have to get into the bubba welding jobs, then you know you've hit rock bottom!

Sorry, I have a several allergy to bubba jobs! I end up with the uncontrollable urge to be ill.. :D

Took the rifle to the range today, quite an improvement! before, I could get 1" fairly regular. Today i fired 5 groups of .73 (center to center) or better! :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana:

Look out gophers! :D

Having learned from my first one, I did my Toz78 tonight. I took out a lot more wood this time and put several extra coats of release agent on it. Also payed more attention to any gaps and taped up a lot of the action. I also separated the two earlier on and was able to use a knife to trim the still soft bedding agent. Put i back together after trimming to smooth out any high spots caused by the trimming.

Overall, it looks a lot better! Need to get to the range again now that I have an excuse... :D

i did my marlin 917v 17hmr last year with jb weld. its soposivly more difficult than usin acraglas but i did ok with the jb weld. i did from the magazine port to 1" in front of the lug and now its so tight the action and barrel doesnt budge even without any screws in. the way i like em...nice and tight :D

Well, here are the pictures!

I ended up doing the entire action area as the fit was very poor. the first pictures are the marlin before I cleaned up the edges of the bedding. The last 3 are the toz. I think I may redo the marlin with my new knowledge now and actually take a lot more wood out!
