Good friend of mine took his sixteen year old daughter hunting a few days ago. She got her first big game animal, and it is a dandy!

-34 C when they started hunting!

It took one shot at 150 yd, as the bull was angled away from her. Tucked the bullet behind the near shoulder, cross-ways through the lungs, and out in front of the off shoulder.... 303 Br. 180 gr Power Point.

Not bad, eh? Most guys would love to have a hunt like this :D

A dandy for sure! Great job for her first big game. I'm seeing quite a few young ladies taking up hunting, it's great. I hope my daughters do the same, I have 3!...and one son.
 
That's my girl! As Ted said, it was her first hunt. A few years back, when she didn't have a license yet, she came with us but we didn't get anything that time. Last year she really wanted to go, but the timing didn't work out for her. This year was her first chance and was she ever excited when that caribou went down. I think she'll be going again next year.
 
The weather has really warmed up here, -2C, and the caribou are still around. Some friends of mine going for caribou again on Saturday, so should have some more pictures next week.

This family, BTW, had never hunted at all, until five years ago. We introduced normahn to shooting, and my wife and I took him and his wife on a Spring bear hunt. Now, both of them, three of their kids, two friends of the kids, and the mother of one of the kid's friends have taken up hunting!
