My son gets home from school yesturday and wants to go for a hunt he is sixteen and eats sleeps and breaths hunting and fishing he isn't interested in anything but. At least I know where he is and what he is spending his money on. Anyhow back to the story Sunday we were in our stands and I have a doe and two fawns walk by me at 30 yards and they continue into the bean feild. My son has a nice buck at sixty yards walk by him but wouldn't come any closer so he moves his stand in further closer to where the buck crossed. Then he comes out of the bush early I could hear something behind me but it left when he moved his stand around.
So Monday he convinces me to get out and it is windier than a bugger and rainy, I don't mind the rain but I am afraid of hieghts and the wind is moving me like 8 inches back and fourth. All of a sudden at 5:50 out runs this little fawn about 70 yards down the field into the bean field and begin eating. I watched it until 6:05PM and then I decided to give a couple of doe bleats and grunts to see how it reacts. all of a sudden I hear crunch behind me and crunch again So I stand up and pick up my bow, Here comes a deer it's a BUCK it walks right to my stand 12 yards I draw and release and he makes to bounces in front of my stand 10 yards away in the opening of the field and he stopps and just falls over. He tried lifting his head for about a minute and that was it. It was all over by 6:15PM. Now that my freezer is full we can concentrate on getting a trophy for the new camp!!!!!!!!! He is not the biggest but it is my first kill with a bow I will take it I am sure he will be good eating for sure
