I finally tracked down the sling I wanted and installed it today.
All ready for deer season. I'm itching to get out there!

Just thought I'd share.

Maybe a little conversation.... What was your first big (N.A) game rifle?

Beautiful gun, what are the specs? Caliber, barrel length etc?

We have custom Cooper rifles on order, they are expected sometime soon, pics to follow as well.

Cheers
Jay

Awesome m70 there. Very nice wood and an excellent scope I have the same one on mine.

First big game rifle was a savage axis 30-06. Was in a hurry and needed something asap. Sold that and got the winchester m70 it is easily the best.

Mine is a sporterized Swedish Mauser 6.5x55. Husqvarna 1943. I used a borrowed Mosin Nagant on a couple of previous big game licenses, but hopefully my first successful big game hunt will be this year.

My first CF rifle was an original Lee Enfield .303 (don't know which model), nothing fell to this rifle. As I recall it was $19.95 at McLeods. Traded this up to a Parker Hale sporterized version Lee Enfield .303 for $85.00 (this was a very nice rifle for what it was, kept it for many years as a loaner). Then onwards and upwards to a Parker Hale 1200C in 7mm RM and also a 1200C in 243. Again no successes and I learned to hate that 7 RM in the 1200C as it used to drop the magazine every time it was fired with a full mag. Traded those two for 2 Rem 700 BDLs in the same calibers, brand new, and finally used the .243 to take a pronghorn. This was my first big game animal, and the rifle used. The 7 RM wore a Weaver K4 in Weaver mounts and the .243 wore a Weaver 3-9 in Weaver mounts. I still have both scopes and the magnum action is now a .264 WM, but I lost track of the short action. I fired more than 10,000 rounds from that .243 and completely shot it out.
WOW that was more than 40 years ago now!!! Seems like last year...........

Thanks.
It's an FN Winchester M70 FWT chambered in .30-06 with a 5+1 detachable floor plate and jeweled CRF bolt. With a 22" barrel.
The optic is a Zeiss Conquest 3x9 mounted with Winchester scope mounts.
The gun weighs about 7.5lbs with the optic and padded leather sling.

Santa Barbara M1000 chambered in 7x57. It's not pretty but I got it for a coffee and a box of .270 ammunition so I can't complain.

First was a Win Pre-64 Model 94 in .32 Winchester Special... I shot five deer in the first hour of my young hunting career (they put the rookie on the end of the drive)... I took a couple dozen deer with that gun in all, and in a moment of stupidity I sold it... was definitely not thinking when I did that.
