Well shot my first buck this morning. a dandy 12 pointer at 200 yards, thought I missed because he disappeared through the fog, once the fog cleared he was laying there, double lung that clipped the spine. Bang Flop.

Anyways im looking for recommendations for taxidermists in the Ottawa Valley.

right now im in contact with whitetail taxidermy in carp. ANy other recommendations?

cape is attached, just cant see from that pic, no cuts above the cape line besides the one needed to get the windpipe out (I couldnt get it through chest cavity :( )

As stated cape was not cut above sternum hes gonna be a shoulder mount ;) no good pics of him skinned out. but I promise its there lol!

Rick Poulin of Rick's Whitetail (he owns Canada Goose Taxidermy as well) past away last year so I think Whitetail Taxidermy is the only one in the Ottawa area. It might take you a year to get the mount back. Rick's turn around time was ~5 months for comparison. He mounted 4 bucks for me over the years.

Very nice deer .you should not have cut the front throat area to get the wind pipe out that will be tough to hide .good luck hope you find a great taxidermy guy..Dutch

Was thinking the same thing. European mounts are actually fairly easy to do yourself. Lots of great videos on line.

I really like the European mounts as well. You can do them yourself relatively simply. Just make sure no one you like is downwind when you are doing the boiling.................
Great buck!
