First budget 22lr SA Revolver?

Looking to get a budget 22lr SA revolver, but cant find one perfect.

Obviously there's the Heritage Rough Rider, but I hate that safety. Im worried I could flip it on by accident if I place my thumb on the frame while shooting. Could that safety get in the way?

The Ruger Wangler looks cool, but I think it's totally BS that the wheel is free spinning and dont have to half #### the gun. Seems no fun. Also seems it would be more annoying to unload if the wheel doesnt click in place for you. What do you guys prefer, free spinning wheel or traditional?

Is there any other budget revolver out there I dont know about? I really only what to spend $300 or less, but these two mentioned arnt perfect. Is it best to stick to one of these mentioned revolvers or are there other options?

I like my Heritage. I’ve never had the safety flip on while shooting. My only real complaint is that the loading gate is a bit too easy to flip open and closed.

I can’t remember what model it is but Chiappa had one as well for fairly cheap but they were all sold out last December when I got my Heritage.
 
I would wait for a used Ruger Single Six to show up, preferably an older model original model..... and maybe save up another $50 or so while you wait.
 
Another vote for the basic Single Six, or even the Single 10 if you want 10 rounds.

There's also the small Ruger Bearcat if kids and women will be shooting it, but I was still able to (although my pinky was off the bottom).

The problem with the Bearcat, however (at least the one I had) was that no women or children could #### the thing with their shooting thumb; they all had to use their offhand because the spring was so strong, and that was ultimately the reason I sold it.
 
Another vote for the old Ruger single-six. I have a Herbert Schmidt 21 and the feel in the hand of the old Ruger is WAY better, and as far as accuracy it shoots better than my Ruger 22/45, almost as well as my Ruger mark II or S&W 17-2. Yes, I like my .22 handguns.
Best thing is I got my single 6 for about 1/2 market value and by the s/n it was made in 1964. If it is this good at 55 years old it should be good for my grandkids in the future.

You dont think the wrangler changing the traditional mechanics is kinda, "less fun?"

Anyone else have an opinion on the wrangler mechanics being better, worse or irrelevant?

Just wondering if anyone else is having trouble getting there hands on a Ruger Wrangler 22 revolver I ordered one of Cabela’s an they told me it is back ordered till early new year. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem as me

Let me know it is frustrating
 
I handled the Ruger single six and the heritage rough rider today. I see now that the cylinder rotation is in fact, "irrelevant & immaterial."

I was not impressed with the Heritage RR. It felt ok, but the sights were not clean and that damn safety is so stupid.

So ill buy a Ruger.

The question is, do i spend a little more for a used Single six or Bearcat, or do I wait and get the Wrangler? Tough choices.

What do you guys think, used bearcat or Wrangler?

pre ordered one as well from a different supplier. still no word on when its suppose to arrive.
 
last i heard from korth is later this year or early next. I assume next year first quarter. Dont know if I can wait that long.

Wait for Wrangler or wait for used SS or bearcat? What would you do?
 
I'll put my vote in for the Single 6, 22lr & 22WMr the Wrangler is only 22lr.
