Headed east to NFLD for a 5 day moose hunt with 4 other guys. All had an awesome time, and we ended up with 3 bulls, 1 cow, and 1 calf.

Did lots of hiking, climbing, and glassing...

I got this nice bull the first evening, in a huge bog. Dropped him with a 250yd shot from the .338 WM / 225gr TSX combo.

Anyone ever see a moose/cape buffalo hybrid? :D

Congrats. That looks like some real nice country. Were you with an outfitter?

Beautiful country. Climb to the hill tops and there's more lakes on top...

Yes we hunted with an outfitter, all non-residents have to.

My first experience with an outfitter, and hunting with a guide, and I really enjoyed it. Although, I'm not used to climbing like that and the newfies are part mountain goat. :D

Good job Brad! That could almost be Muscox in that one Bull.
Very nice hunting area, you booked the perfect time to go.
Congrats.

Thanks guys.

One bull was taken on top of the mountain, had to de-bone and pack out 450lbs of meat. :runaway:

All total we have 1710 lbs of meat, all de-boned and vac-packed...

Noel, it was a perfect week, with snow one day only. Plans are in the works already to go back.
I was thinking about your story, where you found the ram skulls on those special days, and I can relate to that as the day I shot this bull was my 7th wedding anniversary. I've been moose hunting on 3 of the last 4 anniversaries, my loving wife is very understanding. :)

That's icing on the cake isn't it.:) We are fortunate to have patient wives. We planned our wedding anniversary in July, one reason being there was no hunting season! LOL
