first caliber rifle..considering reloadingfor a 14 year old

Threads like this make me wonder why the 250-3000 Savage has become so obscure: It's an ideal caliber suited to small and light guns with light recoil for those who need this configuration. A nice Remington 7 in that caliber... Wake up manufacturers!

Wilbar thanks for sharing. It is always great to see young ladies getting out on hunts and to the range.

I have grown really fond of the 7-08 and it is my trees and gun as well as my travel gun now.

We load ours with 140 grain Barnes TTSX and the have preformed fantastically on game.

Have two 7-08's here. One for myself and one for my 17yr old son. We love them and they worked well this past weekends hunt for white tail. Two hanging in my garage for processing.

My friends boys age 17 and 12 shoot the same cartridge. Their family has a long list of used cartridges and this is their favorite.

140gr Accubond over Varget doing its job.

FWIW.

Regards,
Ron
