Sorry cant for the life of me post a picture. I’ve tried Imgur, tinypics(no longer available) and photobucket as well as CGN instruction. All I get is invalid file.

Anyway still wanted to share my story. Yesterday I turned 63 (yikes!). Figured what better way to spend the day than to go calling. Things are very wet around here with having had 6-8” of rain in addition to 1-2’ of snow. My farmer friend called and said he had lost 3 cows and a calf to the snowstorm. He had opened up roads to feed his cattle and I better come calling. Say no more. Allot of the snow is gone but still very wet.

I set up at my first location which in the past has been a honey hole. 6 minutes in a coyote appears. I have to yell to stop him. I miss him standing broadside at 75 yards😡. Coyote fever has struck again as I watch my hands shaking. I rushed my shot. So I walk about 1/2 mile and set up again this time on a hill. 7 minutes in I see a head bobbing up and down at 10 yards. No shot! I set up wrong as I could no see the bottom of the hill. Lesson learned for next time!

Move a few miles away near another dead cow. 20 minutes produce nothing. So on to another location near the last of the dead cows. Once again a coyote appears. But hangs up. I take the shot at what turns out to be 168 paces. Coyote drops stone dead. This time I was laying prone off a bipod! First miss I was sitting. I don’t like sitting as much as I’m not as steady but my back and neck are bothering me these days. But think I’ll suck up the pain and go prone as much as I can. Oh I’m using a Browning X Bolt in 204 with a Vortex 6-18x44 with a Berger 34 gr Varmint HP.

Anyway that was my 63rd birthday. It will stand out for a while. Back at it next week.

Congrats on the successful hunt! Gonna have to bag a few around my area this year as well, numbers seem up all over the place.

Thanks fellas. I tried this morning on my iPad and iPhone to post a pic but no luck. I’ll try again on laptop.

That’s lovely wood on that 308 to be sure. I’d trade you some coyote steak for that nice tender bull. Should be good eating.

Congrats guys. I finally got out to do some grouse hunting and scouting for deer. There seems to be quite a few yotes this year, sure will try to thin them a bit. I am an old fart too (63) , and it's great to see that I am not alone old guy not giving up hunting.

Thanks for posting my pic salarguy. You got my back bro. I’ll try your PM suggestion soon.

I was out shooting my AR this afternoon!! No one died, no pets were harmed, no Liberals were even aware and consulted on my action.

Popped my first off the rear steps using the bbq as a rest. Twenty yards from one of the barn cats, 125 yard shot with my 527 fs .223. Old guy here too at 68.

I had planned on heading out today with a deer hunting buddy who is dying to learn. But alas 20-40k winds. Next time I guess.
What are your max wind conditions that you’ll call in? I find about 20k to be max for me.
