I got to the farm about 3:30, went in and spoke with the farmer for a few minutes before going out to do my first set. The plan was to do 2 sets at this farm. With a NW wind I figured I needed to take the long way around to get into position for the first set which after 15 minutes didn't produce.............. so I picked up my gear and moved off to the other end of the farm, a good 500 yds to do that second set which looks into a different bush....

I placed my ecaller and decoy about 45yds out in front of me and to my right. I stayed back from the bush a good 250 yds or so as the edge of the bushline I am in, is a swamp that leads right up to the main bush I was looking at..... Once I turned on my decoy and ecaller on (which it plays continuously a low volume dying rabbit sound) I let out a few loud dying rabbit sounds with my hand calls and waited, did that a few times. After about 5 minutes or so I see the coyote enter the field and run/bounce toward the decoy. She stops once about 125 yds out, but with a few lip squeaks she is on her way. She kind of started circling the decoy to get the wind but I stopped her with a loud WOLF sound at 45 yds. I had the crosshairs on her already. It was a frontal chest shot, no exit and she dropped right there...

what decoy do you use?

I currently have one of those that attaches to my ecaller, Fox Jack 5...............but anything that makes movement will work.... You can go electronic cheap by picking up a small motor from a hobby shop, then attach some type of cloth to it, and you are good to go...... Even a feather attached to some fishing line will work.... You just want something for them to look at, peaks their interest...keeps their eyes off of you
