First coyote

Went for a little drive today with my .257R-AI and shot this one at about 150-200 yards. Looks like I hit him a little low. These are my 75gr V-Max fire forming loads going about 3600fps. First coyote of the year and first with this rifle. Cell phone pics.

You should really start shooting them straight on. It might be possible to skin them with a shot between the two front legs.

That's what I plan on using for my 2506 this year. 75vmax at 35-3600 if it will spit them accurately.

75gr Vmax bullets work very well in our .243 also. The coyotes and crows may disagree.

Not yet. There are a few that always hang around this particular farm and I spotted one near a slough bottom from a long way off and drove through the field and the first two got way too far a way for a shot but this one must have been the mental midget of the bunch.

Factory. Kimber 84M with Leupold VXIII 4.5-14x40. Happy camper so far, now to see if it shoots
