Buy a depriming die, you'll need it. I only run range brass through the tumbler without pins. Mostly cause it's been picked up after being stepped on and covered in sand. My other rounds get deprimed with a deprime die and then SS tumble. I hope you ran your pins with just water/soap for a couple hours. I didn't and the first batch chewed up my brass pretty badly.

I sit on the step in the sun and deprime the whole batch at once using a lee hand press and universal decapping die. Goes really fast. Probably deprime 2500 in a couple of hours including chatting with the neighbours. Then tumble, rinse, etc. I like to pour the wet brass out on a piece of cardboard and come back the next afternoon. Once over with a magnet and poured back into a bin labelled "ready".
