well, only one question really. The rotation of the reamer is to be clockwise and i'm pulling from the muzzle end. It may seem like a silly question but is the clockwise direction based off the muzzle end or the chamber end..... so if i'm staring at the muzzle i'd be doing a right hand rotation.... but if it's based off the chamber it would be a left hand rotation.... :runaway: I'm a tad confused, any help would be appreciated, I've googled but to no avail

The flutes on the reamer have sharp cutting edges. If you turn the reamer so the sharp edges can cut, you will be turning the proper direction.

To answer your original question, CW from the chamber end for chamber reamer, CW from muzzle end for muzzle reamer.

perfect, thanx

I did notice the cutting flutes edges seemed to be opposing the direction i was going to turn the reamer. I have started the job ..... almost done actually.
I am finish reaming a short chambered Krieger DMR stainless barrel for my latest M14 build..... will be taking her out and feedin her some ammo in the mornin :D

thanx bearhunter ;)

One look at the reamer, and you will be able to tell which way it should rotate.
Incidentally, never turn a reamer backwards.

NEVER NEVER NEVER turn a reamer in the opposite direction of its designed cutting action, Most of the time reamers are clockwise cutting,

This also applies when you are PULLING OUT< keep turning it in the direction of cut, Either going in or out......Plenty of lube IM sure you noticed, and light feed, Rest of it is cream cheese.

Those are a heck of a good idea!

Too bad that they don't have a 22K Hornet conversion reamer listed. Judging by one of the other threads here they would sell by the barrel full.

(bad pun included at no extra charge!)
