Well Here is my first CZ Rifle. Its 452 Varmint in 22lr with a dip rail Burris Zee signature rings and a Bushnell 4-12 x40 for now. Just mounted the scope this morning. Its only my second CZ product as I have a 9mm Sp01 Shadow as well.
Looking good so far.
Care to share some closeups for others who are concerned about tolerances of the bolt to scope clearance and also the Objective end of the scope to the barrel.
It does appear from the angle in the first picture there is lots of room.
But, it could just be the angle.
What are you going to shoot ammo wise?
Rob
Ill get a couple of pictures later. As for clearance from the barrel there is lots probably more than some like. The Burris rings ar high or extra high , they were on my 40x when i bought it and put a set of offset harris rings on it.
As for ammo im going to be using some cci quiets around the house for varmint control and Center x at the range as its what ive been using in my 40x.
Nice rifle there! Just a warning, you're heading down a slippery, but super fun slope! It happened to me and it can happen to you too!
We even started off the same, 9mm Shadow. I got a 452 Varmint, and within a couple years after that the number of CZ's in the safe have more than tripled! You've been warned.......
Nice CZ~congrats! My current favorite rifle is a 452 Varmint in 22, followed closely by my BRNO 2E...so yes, the CZ habit can get pricey quick. I wouldn't be expecting too much in the way of accuracy from the CCI Quiet-22 ammo, but depending on the size of the pest and how close, it may be good enough if the scope is zeroed for it. My 452 Varmint (thankfully) shoots cheap CCI Blazer very well, but is also the only gun I've ever owned that shot Winchester white box/bulk crap decently. Pretty forgiving rifle.
Naturally, things like SK Standard are even better.
Welcome to the addiction, but consider a YoDave kit to help tweak the trigger. Noticeable improvement in my 452
Thanks for taking the time to post your new CZ.
It will offer some choices in the selection of bases and rings or rail set up.
Great looking gun and have fun.
Rob
The 452 was a good choice, 455's have been showing themselves to be more problematic. I've got a nagging feeling that I should get a 452 to see for myself what the difference is... Heh. "First" CZ rifle yup... if I ended up with more than one, watch out! Just a year ago the Full Stocks weren't on my radar, then because of certain Rimfire Central members flaunting their FS beauties, I became smitten, and now look...
Whether kept in their factory form, or slightly modified, or full custom built, CZs can provide much fun and learning experience if you're inclined to get in there and tinker with them.
Regarding scope ring height, don't worry about how high they are or whether they are "probably more than some like," as you put it. Too often when scoping a rifle shooters strive to have the scope as low as possible. Sure, it might look good. The most important thing, however, is that the scope height feels comfortable to the shooter, not that the scope is as low as possible.
