Got out this morning for the first day of hunting season here in the Ottawa Valley - finally allowed to Sunday hunt here too! Went out on the local river in my canoe at a little before 6am - threw out a few dekes and bagged 3 blue winged teal. Just finished having them for dinner....yum, yum. Hit them on the wing with my 870, No 4 kent Fasteel - 2 3/4" shells, mod choke. First time using my Knoxx Spec ops pistol grip stock -- liked it a lot.

No sunday hunting of migratory birds as far as i know.

Sharing the M.N.R.'s concern for wildlife management, the Canadian Wildlife Service (C.W.S.) which regulates migratory bird hunting, is also supportive of Sunday gun hunting. Recently the C.W.S. approved Sunday gun hunting for waterfowl in parts of central and eastern Ontario where municipalities in those regions have said yes to the M.N.R. proposal. An updated map of new Sunday gun hunting opportunities can be found on the O.F.A.H. website.

Sunday hunting, including migratory birds is allowed in the Southern District, so long as the municipality permits it.

Well Guys, you are very lucky to be able to hunt on Sunday. Out here in NS there is still no Sunday hunting. I can put up with no Sunday shopping, but no Sunday hunting, it is the dumbest thing that I have ever heard. The hunting season is not that long here, people can walk through the woods the other 10 months of the year! Oh well, glad to hear that someone can hunt on Sunday,

happy trails

Yep, we were out as well, on Saturday and Sunday hunting Geese. In the Madoc area.
Sure was nice to be able to take advantage of both of the weekend days as I was there visiting and building a camp.
