So it finally warmed up enough to make shooting comfortable so I decided to go shoot my new Tikka for the first time. I followed a first 10 shots clean after every shot routine (don't know if that really makes any difference, but it does give me an excuse to stay at the range longer anyways) and then begain shooting three shots together for scope sight in. I should mention that I had gone to the gun shop and requested the cheapest 270wsm they had as I will hand load for this rifle but I just wanted to get a feel for her before I start working up a load. They handed me a box of Winchester Super X 150gr and I was on my way. I just about fell on my rear when I shot the second three shot group, it was .3125 middle to middle and .5625 outside to outside at 100 yds, and the best part is the remaining 3 groups that I shot all came in at .75 in or better. :sniper: I can't wait to get handloading for this sucker. For the life of me I can't see how to put my pics on here, but if anyone can tell me I have a couple of shots to share! And sorry, this isn't meant to brag, I am just astounded what this rifle can do for 750 bucks and cheap (relatively) ammo.

Ya, Tikkas just seem to defy the performance of a rifle in their price range. I know I've become a believer over the past few months. You gotta love it when a rifle shoots that well.

I remember I got to shoot last summer with a fellow gunnut at the oshawa gun club, He let me shoot his Tikka .270. It was cheap Federal powershok 150 grainers. I fired a quick 3 shot group, it was well under an inch. I was quite impressed!!!

Why is it that no one who makes claims like this ever posts pics of the targets.

Not doubting the validity of the claim necessarily....., but personally I'd not only post a pic, I'd have the freakin' thing bronzed.

Like I said in the post, I can't figure out how. I can post pictures if you want.....Or email them to anyone who wants. They are up on Hunting BC under the same header, I just can't figure out how to do it on this site. So please tell me how, and you shall receive. I feel no pride in the fact it shot that well, I had very little to do with it ;), but please give me the info and I will post em.

Wally has a good thread on how to post pics:

Pics

Pics are a bit grainy because I shrank em, saved them, then tried to enlarge them again, but here they are regardless.

I have a T3 Hunter in 300WinMag.

This rifle groups around half moa with a couple of handloads of mine. I shot a young bull moose with it last fall. His only problem is that the barrell collect copper like crazy. I'm Looking for a way to recycle it into pennys, would cut the costs a little.;)

Otherwise, it's a fine hunting rifle with smooth bolt operation, awesome trigger and low weight.

I put a Limbsaver recoil pad on it and it really helps to tame the recoil and muzzle jump of the big 30 in such a lite rifle.
