Your sasquatch theory is obviously correct. Tell Ivan to smarten up...
Finally, that's a great pic of your pooch with a mouth full of Bullwinkle! Is he part Karelian, or pure Norwegian Elkhound? Or am I out to lunch (which is common!)...

Altogether a strange hunt, but certainly a life experience, dw.

I told Ivan but he is a non believer  As for my dog loki he is a purebred Norwegian Elkhound.

It sounds like you had a very memmorable trip. You write of events that exemplify the essence of "the annual moose hunt" and how it as a whole encompasses much more than just pulling the trigger. Well done. The photos are certainly telling themselves.

Although I missed my annual moose hunt this year, reading of yours helps bring back welcome memmories from my past trips. I can't wait until next year.........

Bastard! :D If there's a heaven, it surely must look like that place. Seeing photos with that kind of scenery makes me want to move west again.

Thanks Scar. I loved being there, and taking the photos. I took over 130 pics. All like the ones posted. Trouble is the pics just don't do it justice.

Congrats!! And nice bull !!!

I wonder what it is with the water??? I shot a cow a couple years ago, and when I finally caught up with her, she was standing in about 2 feet of water on the shore of a nearby lake (about 100 yards from where I shot her).
She just stood there for about 30 seconds staring into space before she fell....

fly-in hunting trips

I had a similiar experience around the Dease Lake area a few years ago. It's nice to hear and see someone going to the trouble of letting everyone enjoy the experience as well. If I had my way, I would have my hunting partner and I fly in every other year or so, to get the maximum experience of a peaceful, productive hunt.(no crowds or zones to worry about)
What I spend every year driving the roads, fending off the crowds, is about the same as what the fly-in trip cost in total.

Thanks for sharing this was absolutly amazing hunting trip, the photos are timeless and thanks again for sharing your great hunt, what type of camera?
What ever the trip cost, is not a matter as what you got is memorys for a life time, going to look again at photos third time. great job

Thanks for all the replies guys. It was a trip of a lifetime for me. Hope to do it again sometime. manitou210 the camera was a Fuji S5000

Well done, that's the best story Ive heard in years. Lots of guys would have let that moose go to waste. Glad to see you are a true sportsman and dealt with it properly.
