I somehow managed to break off the charging handle off of a kel-tec sub 2000. fired probably 3000 rounds 9mm and the handle attached to the bolt sheared off. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of where to find a replacement charging handle?
Thanks

I literally told Vault Distribution to keep my gen1! Three deficiencies, second owner (me), cost-prohibitive to repair; never again.

Call kel-Tec (which can be a real ass pain to get through to them) and you can ask them to send you the replacement parts. You'll need a credit card to pay for shipping.

If you send your rifle to the only company that does warranty work in Canada you'll be waiting 6-9 months

Should be very straight forward to fix. You should have an exploded parts diagram that came with it - you can either order the parts directly from keltec (check their website) or get a local dealer to order it in. It's not that big a deal.

I've been fairly happy with the Sub2000. I have put many rounds through the barrel and only issue I've had was the bolt handle snapping off. Thanks for the replies I have emailed Kel-Tec for a new charging handle.
Cheers

My experience with Keltec is actually quite good. I broke the hummer axis pin on my sub 2000 (don't ask me how) and it only took one call to ask for a replacement which was sent to me free of charge (no wait time, no shipping charges). So give them a call.

I just took a quick look at my Sub 2k....i dont understand how that bolt charging handle snapped. At forward position the bolt rests against the barrel, at rear travel the spring fully collapsed stops the handle from hitting the rear travel stop.

Anyways, Its a cilinder with a narrow section milled out for the spring to hold it in place....5 min on a lathe and you got yourself a new bolt handle

I wish I still had the pieces to show but somehow after a move I can't find them to
Post pics. I'm not totally sure how it snapped and what you say is true about the bolt travel. The only thing I can think of as to why to snap off is to "wear" from locking the bolt and releasing time and time again. Like I said I have probably 3000 rounds through the pipe.... That's all I can think of that would cause that. It did snap at the point where I contacts the notch to lock the bolt back if I remember correctly.

It happens because the slot the charging handle rides in has a slight chamfer to it which acts as a knife edge, slowly cutting the handle every time it reciprocates. Eventually, it's worn through enough that it will snap off. It's a design flaw. When you install the new handle, I would recommend sanding the sharp edges down as well.
