First gopher shoot of the season!!!

My nephews have been out quite a bit in the last couple weeks. First year their dad has let them out on their own. Pigs in 5hit! Now I just have to find some time.....

i repeat, what did the gophers do to you? did they look at you the wrong way? finger you?

poor little guys. they have familys missing them now.

Well wher do I start? Today, one ran right out in front of me after I swerved onto the shoulder. He could have caused me to lose control. But thanks to my selfless act, he will not be potentially endangering other motorists. Yesterday one of the little bastards actually climbed right into a trap. And who risked their fingers to remove him? Why me of course, and I don't have many of those left to spare! Oh, also yesterday a woman turned her back only for a minute to tie her shoe when I spotted one stalking up on the baby in the stroller. First I heard the low growl, then it started foaming at the mouth. As it charged, I was lucky enough to intercept it with my right front tire, saving that baby's life and her Mother from a potential mauling. Yup, all in a days work for this boy.

Resist the temptation. Let them go to seed, and bring up a fresh new crop of targets for your shooting pleasure later this spring :)

I got 7 on the weekend of march the 8th while coyote hunting and now all I can think about is getting more when they all come out. And then i got the call. The 4 fields that we hunt gophers in are crawling with gophers as of tuesday. needless to say I have planned a trip to southern sask this weekend to go hunting. Although the idea of letting them breed to encourage better numbers later in the year sounds good, i just can't help myself.

I got a few on Saturday here by Regina. They have been out for about three weeks down south but the guys I talked to said they are starting to poison this weekend. So a trip is planned for Saturday. As a side note only males are out right now the females don't come up for a while yet.
