So I am super stoked to share with ya'll fine people I went and purchased my first firearm today.

Decided on a Remington 870, Marine Magnum with the tube extension. Its a beautiful piece!

I have to ask, Im attempting to disassemble it for the first time. Im able to get the cap, extension, follower & spring out, but the barrel is having issues coming out. Does anyone have any advice on the how to loosen this up for the first time??

Thanks guys!!

Yes, I had it open about half way. It seems because its new its a little tight. Was the same when unscrewing the tube cap. Im certain this is normal, i guess im also a little nervous about breaking something considering its my first one. Could I spray in some gun oil to help loosen it up?
Is the pump slid open a bit?

Congratulations on your first. How bad-azz did you feel on the drive home? :)

I can't help you disassemble but as mentioned above, YouTube!!

welcome to the world of sport shooters excellent buy! i was excited to bring my first gun home but nothing beats when you bring your first animal home that was taken with said gun

870 marine is a great gun choice. You will really enjoy it. Like mentioned before, YouTube can be a real help disassembling guns. Although if you get stuck, I'm sure someone on here will be able to help!

I bought mine two years ago, and it has been flawless, accurate, and RUST FREE. The R3 recoil pad really absorbs the abuse.

BTW, it doesn't have to be a utility shotgun... put on a rifled barrel, and you're good to go for deer.
