First Gun: SR22 and Questions!

BX-25 is prohibited because it was designed to fit the charger pistol and the 10/22. A magazine designed for a pistol with a capacity greater than 10 rounds is prohibited. The Butler Creek steel lips/hot lips probably fits the charger but it wasn't designed for it so it's not a prohibited device. The B/C mags can be painted to match the finish of the gun.

The alangator tri-mag is another option to increase ammo capacity.

Replace "designed" with "advertised" and you've hit the nail on the head. Virtually all (if not all) 10/22 magazines will fit the Charger pistol, but are not advertized/ marketed as such.

BB.

Okay I got the gun the other day. I got it with a basic carry case (black plastic) and a 25rd Magazine (Butler Creek steel lips)

Don't mind the picture it's from my cell phone ;)

Still waiting on sights. I'm low on funds until next month but that's fine because I have to wait until the middle of next month before I can even attempt to join my local gun club (shooting range) so hopefully by than I'll have something figured out.

I checked out a local store they had a cheap Tasco red dot but if I get it I'll have to change the case lol.

I still think I want to get the AR-15 style handle with rear sight and a top rail and front sight from somewhere. I can't find a cheap Canadian site that sells all three parts. Combat Optical says it only ships USA.

You'll love this gun. got mine for christmas and have alittle over a 1000 round through it, very few misfires mostly due to bad ammo. but if you will be shooting an over 100 yard you may want the scope over iron sights.

Definitely go with a scope, I bought a cheap (70$) red dot and grew tired of it pretty quickly. They suck for shooting in the daytime if it's bright out and having to rely on batteries is never fun. Bought a 3-9 scope from AIM for 110$ and it makes a world of difference. Don't be too worried about cleaning, it's a little bit of a pain in the ass to get the gun apart but definitely nothing overwhelming (I'm a noob too this was my first gun). I researched around and I think I found that frontier firearms was the cheapest for rails at about 70$ for the bottom and two sides. I went with the foregrip from frontier as well and I'm super happy with it. It's pretty heavy so it's nice to get something to get a good grip on. Plus you gotta have somewhere to put the pressure pad for the laser! Found a combo laser/pressure pad for about 30$ off ebay and it's more just for fun then anything but it is pretty neat. Great purchase though hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine!!

I've heard a few people say you have to take the top rail and barrel guard off to clean it and a few other people say you don't! I think the old ones like the early batch you had to but most of them you don't. Well I won't have to worry about that for awhile as little as I'll be shooting it I probably wont have to clean it for a year!

I noticed frontier firearms has the rails and also the AR-15 handle sight and flip up front sights. Yes they are cheaper than most any other Canadian web store I found so I'm quite sure I'll be getting from them.

I'm only going to be shooting in the local range and well... I haven't been in there since I was 10 and I'm not familiar with the "average" range so what I'm guessing is 50-75 yrds and no more. sound right?
