First Handgun: 92A1?

Handle one first. What looks great to you might not feel great to you. Since you are in Vancouver might be a good idea to go to DVC and shoot one, try a bunch of other 9mm's they have. Keep in mind most of their pistols have seen better days.
 
I enjoy all firearms but you never know one until you shoot it, just holding it is not the same IMHO. I recommend you try and shoot the model you are going to buy before you buy it. I have nothing against Berettas but the one I shot had the weirdest trigger feel compared to my 9's. I have 4 and enjoy them all but I do have preferences among them. My CZ SP01 Shadowline was my favorite until I got my CZ Shadow 2 which is fantastic. I also recommend Glocks, not everyone's cup of tea but my Glock 17 has been very good for me.
 
I've been shooting at 92 for quite some time it's awesome pistol I bought a second one just for the sake of having a second one. I'm actually thinking of selling it because I don't use it I'm so comfortable with my old original
