So I been holding off on a Handgun even tho I have had my RPAL for years but now with talk of the Liberals going Full Retard and maybe slam through a gun ban before they get destroyed in the next election I decided there might not be time to wait anymore so I ordered the gun I have always wanted a Sig P226.

Found one online and ordered it up and it only took 1 day to get approved and shipped out and took 1 more day to get here from Edmonton. So had it in hand 3 days after purchase wow call me impressed ! I went with the .22 classic because of the ability to get other calibers for the P226 and then use the .22 upper for cheap practice shooting and it's actually about $100 cheaper to get the .22 version and a caliber upgrade then to just buy the big caliber straight out and then you wouldn't have the .22 to practice with.

Went to the new Bullets and Broadheads indoor range in GP my friend Terry had a 2 for 1 coupon its a pretty nice place they have two seperate 5 bay 25 yard ranges it was my first time there it was a great time. Didn't try the axe throwing or archery ranges this time tho.

Anyways got set up on the range and took my new gun for a spin, I had 2 mag loading issues in the first 30 rounds but after that there was not a single issue it shot perfect and I blew through an entire 500 round box of winchester M22 and 100 rounds of CCI Mini Mags !! My friend Terry who has shot handguns for years couldn't stop raving about how much fun it was to shoot and he now wants to get rid of a couple of his handguns and get a P226 Classic !

I have shot handguns like 3 times in the last 15 years so I am very new to the sport but always knew I was gonna get me one of these one day. Anyways here is a couple pics I shot at 10 yards it sounded pretty close considering I have always shot rifles but with a handgun it looked way further then it sounded but it was a lot of fun !

Well trying to add pics but apparently it won't let me add images to my post :(

Congrats and good choice on going with the 22. I did the same but bought a 9 at the same time. I suggest holding off on the 9 because if you get it you won't want to shoot 22 any more lol.

Great choice! When you do get the 9mm conversion kit you'll be good for a while. Many say a .22lr HG gets boring. Personally, I enjoy shooting one with my off hand.
Gives you a totally different perspective and you never know when you may have to "switch" hands......

Hi Ravage, wonderful! Nice shooting and it must feel so good to get back into a nice SIG P226! Hope you enjoy many many years of shooting !

That .22 classic 226 is that trainer pistol I use for all my clients and my own personal practice. I just bought a 9mm top end then I was really ready to bring another 5 x 9mm magazines with me to DCRA NSCC or National Pistol matches with this rig. Came in middle of the pack. Not bad for never practicing with a 9mm and merely a .22 rimfire! That’s all I can afford anyways.

Try different brands of .22 LR ammo and see which/ what cheaper brands it prefers/cycles/loves. It’s all part of the journey. Welcome to the addiction.

Don’t forget to clean that top end. I spray a pile of Brake Cleaner into the barrel and chamber and locking lugs and breech face and under the extractor and the firing pin hole. Wear safety glasses and enjoy....

And of course, Flush the Turd on 21 OCTOBER .....

Cheers, Barney

You can’t go wrong with that. An addictive, albeit reasonably priced, way to several calibers on 1 frame. I started with a 226 stainless Elite in 9 and added xchange kits for .22, 40 and 357 Sig (my favourite). Enjoy.
