Hey all,

Narrowed down the choices for my first handgun. The top 3 are:

S&W M&P 9mm
Arsenal firearms strike one
Sig P320

I've shot both the sig and the m&p and enjoyed shooting both. I had tighter groups with the sig, but the m&p felt like I had a better purchase on the firearm and easier to manipulate the controls with my stumpy hobbit fingers. Haven't had a chance to fondle the strike one.

Any opinions appreciated. Leaning towards the m&p at this point as the range kit is great value and I already have an extra mag and ram kit sitting at home.

Walther PPQ deserves to be on that list.
However, of those three I've heard the most best things about the M&P, though I do have a professional curiosity in the P320.

I did shoot the glock 34 I think it is? The 9mm long slide. Kept getting brass in the forehead... Will prob get a g19 in the future but at this point not on the list.

Also shot the ppq quite a bit, super crisp trigger! Don't really like the style of trigger safety and found the paddle sstyle mag release a bit tough to use

Given your choices, I'd go with the M&P 9mm range kit. You already have the reloading gear (or some of it) so why not get a holster, mag pouch, and mags all in the same kit?

First Handgun: battle of the polymer strikers

...totally trolling here...that title sounds a tad festive, eh
Not something you could picture Clint Eastwood saying :)

Glock 17 or 22 depending if you want to go 9mm or .40 S&W

But S&W M&P if you must. ;)

NAA.

The P320 trigger is the best 'factory' striker-fired trigger I have shot. Very, very nice.
Almost as good as my Glock 17 trigger that I have had a lot of professional service on.
The Sig is comfortable in the grip, balanced and held very steady for me which made for
quick follow-up shots.
For how BAD the M&P trigger is, you might as well use a hammer and punch to send your
rounds down range.. !

Also, there are the PPQ M2 which should be in country by now. They have standard button mag releases instead of the levers on the trigger guard.

Now you're making me all nostalgic for my PPQ.

Another stumpy fingered member. I think the P99 AS should be on the list. I find the controls very easily manipulated with my short fingers.
ETA - I misunderstood your comment about the "paddle style" mag release. The P99 is the same and you probably won't like it either.
