First handgun Beretta M9A1

Hmm, I am torn between the standard M9 and the M9A1. I like the grip stippling on the M9A1, but the rail ruins the form of the frame IMO. If only the standard M9 came with the stippling, or if the 92FS still had the straight dust cover, and had the stippling.

Sweet gun by the way, I keep saying I am gonna get a 92/M9 but then something comes up and I lose track lol.

Pretty much. Have you ever fired +P ammo in it? I've read this pistol can take +P and also +P+? None of that is available where I'm at though :(

don't worry about it- you'll be reloading soon enough, and then you can cook your loads whichever way you want- including plus p- in my experience, when you go to plus p, you pay for it in terms of accuracy as well as powder charge

Wlcome come to Beretta nation!! one of the best handgun. This one is mine M9, no rail but damn ###y looking gun.

NICE! Trigun, did you get the 2 dot or the 3 dot sights? I agree, its a hot gun, probably the best looking pistol available IMO.

Thanks for the welcomes guys. This board is huge and really active with lots of nice and knowledgeable people. Good to be here.

I was wondering the same thing when I was looking to purchase, whether the look of the gun was affected by the rail. I decided to go with it because I like the options available by having a rail. After having received it there is no question, the M9A1 is awesome and hot looking. Now I think the rail adds to it even in terms of looks.

Either one would be a good choice, if you can find them. I did not find them available anywhere but TSE in Calgary, and I got the last one I believe. Other canadian stores, including my local shop, all said they had them on order for a long while and the orders were not getting filled. I've read stories of Americans looking for up to 2 years and not finding one.

Looking at the boxes of the guns from those who posted in this thread, they all look to be the same series of production, the camo sheet over the cardboard box that reads "celebrating 20 years of service with america's armed forces". Maybe this was a limited production run of a commemorative civilian release? As discussed earlier, there are some features of this gun which differ from that which is issued to the us armed forces. I currently believe this to be a limited release civ version of the M9 and M9A1.

Yeah, I'm sure it can handle it. Short term. Might not be prudent to give an aluminum frame pistol a steady diet of +P or +P+ ammo, though.

NAA.

I love my own M9A1. However, I've got one nasty slide bite telling me I should be more careful when I'm riding the slide after doing the good old "unload and show clear" after a stage...

That open-top slide might be very elegant, right convenient for loading the Barney Bullet, but if you're not careful, it'll bite...

Congrats on the new gun ....
I just got my self a 92 FS .
I was thinking about the m9 myself. but just for the 2 dot sights .
I have no use for the rails and prefer the clean lines of the 92fs.
Again, congrats.
Alwase good to heer there is a new handgunner.
