First handgun question 9mm vs 22 lr

Thank you all again for your comments and suggestions. It's really helping my knowledge and understanding on what to do. I agree that I will buy both calibers someday for sure. Absolutely ! For now and for starters 22 lr makes sense. I want to shoot the best I can and not hinder my practicing. Work my way up. I imagine it won't be my last pistol. Not even close.
1+ if gun purchasing is turning into your addiction. Lmao.

1x more vote for 9mm.

although I have both, I use them for different shooting purposes. I found semi-auto .22 shooting not very similar feeling to shooting 9mm and 45acp, so it seemed that it was not much of a training tool at all! (other then the basics of pointing a gun and pulling the trigger, but you can do that for free at home, its called "dry-fire" or get a pellet gun) I sold it after 2 range sessions but have since picked up a 'longer range' single shot .22 bullseye target gun which is a pretty fun challenge at more then 2x or 3x the distance and a completely different style of shooting.

In the bicycle world it's a well known fact that the PROPER number of bikes is N+1. "N" being the number of bikes you have now. I've tried my best to maintain that rule with my gun buying. And after a while you actually get to LIKE Kraft Dinner.... :d

Handguns are like potato chips or popcorn. It's pretty much impossible for any proper gunny to have just one. So you'll end up with your rimfire, 9mm, .38/.357 revolver and 45 all in good time.
