Hi everyone,

About to pull the trigger on a 422 (no pun intended hehe). This would be my first handgun. Really wanted a model 41 but they are close to a 1000. If I pick up a 422 it leaves me money in my budget for a 9mm. Really like the look of the 422 with the wood grips. What are your thoughts on this handgun ? Would I still be able to find parts if ever needed. Like the firing pin or the spring. Thanks

The 422 is a nice handling gun & with the right ammo, quite accurate. But obviously they are not close to a 41 but neither is the price.
As far as I know, parts could be a bit of a problem if you need them. IMO it would depend on the price for a 422. As long as you get it for a good price, why not.
However i would suggest something such as a Ruger 22 over a 422. Built like a tank, super reliable & easy to get.

Thanks for the advice. The rugers and the buckmarks etc just does nothing for me. I can't get over the pea shooter look. Maybe start with the 422 until i can get a nice 9mm. The spring i am not worried about since people have used some from other firearms. Just the firing pin. But it is a good price with low usage.

I've had a 6" barrelled 422 for about 8 years. certainly over 15000 rounds, and its by far my most accurate handgun. (it wasn't picky about ammo either)
Its light, but the muzzle rise is minimal because of the "underbarrel". (Kinda like the new Rhino, in a way, with a lower center of gravity barrel. )
The only drawback was that I spent 6 years trying to buy a second magazine. Spare parts are pretty well non-existent. But its a reliable gun, never had a part break yet.
Get it, you wont be let down.Pray it comes with a spare mag..........

yep comes with 2. you do know that the model 41 mags fit in the 422 right ?

No they don't . I bought 2, and the slots that catch the release are in a different place. I tried to modify the mags by opening up the slot, but no luck. I was told they will fit too, and after 6 years of desperation to get a second mag , I ordered 2 at 40 bucks a piece. Waste of money. Now they wont fit a 422 or a 41.

Ok so I bought it. Anybody aware of someone in Canada that has a firing pin wouldn't mind keeping a spare just in case. Isn't numrich in the US ? I have a fellow in the US that has stock but he can't ship it here. Please advise if you are aware of somewhere in Canada that has them. I will contact the places suggested in the other thread. Thanks

Found the firing pin in Canada. I am new to all this. Anything else I should order with the firing pin to have on hand. This is my first handgun so I plan on keeping it forever. SHould I order springs for it. Which ones ? THanks for the help.

I have the complete full slide and spring for a 422(new O/S).If you ever have a problem, that would pretty well cover anything serious. Just a matter of switching it over.

Is it something you are looking to sell ? What shape is it in. I am new to this I assume that means it also comes with a firing pin ? Tried to send you a PM but you can't receive them.
