Okay I have been taking the citizens police academy for 9 weeks and tonight was firearms. So the Regina City Police (###) uses the GLock 22 40 cal. I have shot a 9mm browning before as well as my 357 magnum S7W but have never shot alot of handgun or had any training at all.

Well I am thrilled to say I shot a perfect 50/50 with 6 shots touching each other and one is through another ones hole almost perfect with a used glock. THere was a tie with a couple other guys so we had to run 5 flights of stairs up and down do 10 pushups and 20 jumping jacks and then shoot in the dark with strobes on and the instructors screaming at us. I shot almost a 50/50 but I had 2 on the line and since one other guy didn't have any on the line thay scored me lower, which is fair in my eyes.

Well I am totally hooked now and can't wait to join the handgun club with a new auto in tow. I also have taken a directors role at our local gun club with me working at the handgun range as well as the PR department. Now to decide on an auto to buy...... Hmmmmmmm Another toy for March me thinks.....:50cal:

Let me be the first to say Congrats on your new passion. Try out as many as you can before you make up your mind. Handguns are very much a personal thing.

Well our handgun club is getting together this monday so I am going ot be trying out a few then. I really didn't mind the glock and they will shot under any conditions but I don't know if I will be a casual shooter or would get into competitive shoting down the road. Dammit there is no way I am going to going to sleep in the next couple hours!!!!!!!!! hahahaha I feel like I did when I bought my first 22 way back when...... No I am not telling anyone how old I am....hehehe:ninja:

I only decided to jump through the whole PAL hoops when I found out that we had IPSC and other similar shooting match type stuff right here in stodgy ol' Canada. If it was just a case of putting holes in paper while standing still or going hunting I'd never have bothered. It's up to you of course but moving around and shooting is going to be a whole heap of fun to me. Look into it. Maybe there's some lower key events in your area that you can try without having to buy all the kit first.

For example the Mission club out my way has steel pistol shoots. I'm planning on going to the next one with guns in hand, so to speak :D, and get in on the action. I'll bet your local handgun group has something similar or is just itching for someone to suggest it... and to volunteer to run it.

Congrats, shooting nice! Not everyone shoots that good with a Glock for the first time! I guess it was 7 to 12 yards!

Thanks guys, it was about 10 yards for the first target and about 15 for the second one with the simulated stress added. I am going to the club meeting monday night to check it out and hopefully try a couple guns out for size. I would love to get moving around but we will have to see whats avail. here.
