First Handgun Sig Sauer or Glock

I tried many guns before deciding on the Walther PPQ. It fit my hand well and was super accurate. The only thing I disliked were the sights, since replaced. To be fair, I disliked the sights on most that I tried. So, my advice is try everything you can get your hands on, buy what feels best, get comfortable with what you buy, then investigate 3rd party sights.

Well to assure the worries of those posters asking why I limited myself to only two choices, well I actually ended up with those 2 after a hefty search. I went through several options from the Springfield 1911, Beretta 92fs, S&W MP9, FNH FNS-9, H&K P30ls. This purchase is about 3 years in the making. As for limiting myself to one handgun...not likely lol. I have my eye on a 1911 down the road as well as Taurus Judge (if I can find one). But I'll start with just one pistol...my next purchase in line is a Mossberg 500/590 Flex.

Bought the 320 first(3 years ago) and loved it! Accurate, ergonomic and easy to disassemble and clean. Bought a G17 this year, and having a real tough time trying to hit my target? I find it’s twitchy and relatively small for my hands, even with the handle stack. Went back to my 320, and more recent a 226, and hitting bullseye effortlessly. It’s weird? As one poster said, try out both if you’re at a club where someone might own one, and go with what you feel the most comfortable with.

Well I made my decision and went with the Sig Sauer P320. I want to thank everyone for their input and advice...except for whoever said I should get a Hi point lol. It came down to feel of the Sig in my hands. I'm looking forward to lots of range time to practice and next on my list is a better holster then the one it came with. Now to start researching 1911's or a nice wheel gun lol.

Well done. You will have no regrets. If you don;t wind up playing tinker toys with it with different calibers and grips etc you could decide to get in any order a Uberti Clone of the 1873 Colt SAA, then the Beretta 92FS and a 1911.

The Colt SAA lasted about 38 years with the US Army, the 1911 was in general service for about 74 years, followed by the 92FS which lasted, say 33 years and I am giving the 320 about the same life cycle or more. More because I expect the tinker toy gun ought to fill virtually any need the military decides they require. Who knows? Let us know how you make out. Get hold of Tim at Solely Canadian for one of the best kydex belt holsters available and a double mag pouch. You will be set for life.

Take Care

Great choice. I want with Sig as my first because they are quality guns that you can hand down to your grandchildren some day. Enjoy your new firearm. Cant beat Sigs if you got the dough.

Should serve you well, good choice!

Great news for your first, and a 320 to boot :)

They can be configured in soo many ways too:

Just came back from the range..

I ran a .40/357sig full size magazine in my 9mm p320 and was able to load 12 rounds. No issues at all, and I even tried to force it to jam somehow :)

Even placing a 9mm and .40 magazine head to head, I don't see much difference in the width of the feeding lips...
