First handgun (w/pics)

The S/N is 65### which I believe puts it in the mid-fifties, although I can't find the website that shows the dates of manufacture. I have no plans of shooting +P loads in it. Just want to shoot some paper and have some fun with it. It's one more discipline of shooting that I want to try.

I think most of the wear is from carry, not necessarily from shooting. At least the times my grandfather shot it were pretty far between.

1941 makes sense. I have a 1939 and it looks very much like yours. I may be wrong but I don't think Colt put wooden grips on those .38's in the fifties. I think they used some sort of hard plastic.
