First Handgun

If you want to go the .22 route, which is a great idea, and you don't want ammo issues, get a Ruger, they will eat anything.. a MK3 or 22/45, or for even more fun, a revolver!

I had an M&P22, was no fun at all, even with good ammo it would fire maybe 5-6 rounds without an FTF or FTE.. my MK3 just ate up the same ammo without issues.

I started a couple months ago with an SR9, it's great, eats anything I throw in there apart from Winchester white box 115g. I've since bought a GSG 1911-22 to get shooting costs down and to let the wife get better at control, she's been struggling to hit anything with the 9. The GSG seems pretty happy with all the different types of ammo I've fed it, again apart from the Winchester white box 222. Seeing as they both have less than 500 rounds each, I'll reserve judgment on the Winchester until they're properly broken in.

I had a m&p22 and I thought it wasn't ammo picky cause I shot a case of 5000!! cci blaser without a malfunction, but then tried other ammo & didn't have the same luck

Also consider a Sig P226 9mm. It was my first pistol. Also the pistol my dad used on the Tac Team back in the day. It digests ball ammo and handholds very well. I find the grips very ergonomic, and its very very accurate. I'm not a huge fan of polymer guns, so this was the choice for me. Smooth like butter!!

My collection includes p226, g34, Tokarev, norc 1911s, Hk Usp, Fns 9. I recently had the pleasure to fire PPQ m2 in 9mm and i can say it's the best pistol ever made.
