Finally got my butt into gear and went out with my buddy on our first hunting trip.

Well, it was a good day overall despite coming home with no meat. We spotted a group of pheasants, wait for it.... 8 of them! We could not shoot them, as they were on a Farmers field which had many "No Hunting" signs around the property. Oh well, they were nice to look at at least.

Other then that, I concluded that walking around in the woods with a close buddy and a loaded gun makes for a fun day, and the off roading experience made it all the better. That we got the truck horribly and catistrophically stuck just made it even funnier. We were out from sunrise untill around 2pm, which is when we decided to get our truck unstuck, so we had lots of hunting time. A huge thanks to my dad for coming to haul our butts out of that mud pool. None of the local hunters had a tow cable or winch on any kind. I guess that is a purchase for next time.

Enjoy!

And my favorate shot of the day, and my new screensaver, was taken on a break from hiking, and during a "Victory Cigar" (Independance Day style :D)

Pulled out by a Chevy, I can believe that.LOL. Can still have a great day without killing something everytime you go out. Coulda been worse "coulda shot a magpie". LOL

Sounds and looks like you had a great day! Awesome!

Just a suggestion, you might want to look at getting a better set of AT tires, for slop like that. Experiance is a great teacher. A winch might be cheaper though.

good memories of getting stuck in the mud. lol. it happens to the best of us. Just drive on the ruts, or if you can around until u know how deep it is.

i don't know whats worst, no birds or seeing the tacoma struck., both make me sad

Im with you there, it killed me to see those damn birds but not be able to whack em'. But i gotta say it hurt a hellova lot more to see my truck stuck in the mud.

When we were coming in and the truck started to slide off the ridges and into the massive rut we got stuck in, i thought it was all over for me (mom was gunna take the 12 gauge to me). Thankfully we got her out!
