got out today for my first attempt at IDPA. It was a great day for shooting, no rain to spoil the party, and a good crowd participating.
Neither I or fellow CGN'er Trailskinpat have ever shot an event before, so we teamed up for moral support,lol, and I think we both had a great time. As a first time shooter. I went in with the plan to focus on getting my hits in, and not worry about my times, and surprisingly I actually stuck to my plan, and honestly think I shot better than I expected. There were some cool stages, a great group we shot with, and our RO was fantastic, all of it made for a fantastic experience, and I can't wait to shoot the next one
Props to Trailskinpat, with very little experience he shot the match today with a brand new to him Canik, I honestly don't know if I would have the balls to shoot a competition with 3 range trips and a brand new gun I had only shot the night before,lol, you aquitted yourself well bud!!
If any of you get the chance to make it out to the 'Wack for an IDPA, I think you will enjoy it, a really fantastic group of people, all willing to help out the new guys, and everyone pitched in at the end to get it all put away quickly, just awesomebig thanks to Still Alive for taking time out of his life to mentor us and get us up to speed, much appreciation for the time you put in!
Next time I am going to get the wife out also, there were at least half a dozen female shooters, now she has no excuse not to come
