I recently acquired a 3 screw Single Six from the EE and finally took it out to the range. This gun is one I can honestly say is pleasurable to shoot. Not a pleasure to shoot, actually pleasurable. It fits perfectly in my hand ( and I have large hands), points naturally and returns to point after the shot. I could shoot this thing all day. It's pretty accurate at 15 yds, not going to win any Bullseye matches, but accurate enough. Overall very, very happy with this purchase.

A fellow at my club used to be a Ruger dealer and collector. He said mine was made around 1957 and has Itallian walnut grips. The bluing is worn some and it has some rust "scars" but it functions fine.

By the way I aslo have 1911s, S&W revolvers and SAA 45 Colts and I love shooting them all but I can tell this is soon going to be my favorite. If I could carry this thing hunting or just walking around the woods the end of the barrel would be shiny from holster wear :) TC

Another 3 screw owner here. And yes to everything you said.

If I have any one complaint about the gun it's that it encourages me to shoot it a lot. That leads to the cylinder chambers becoming fouled and the cartridges becoming sticky to load. And that leads to me having to clean the gun more frequently than my others which don't get used as much.... It's a tough life :D
