First LEH attempt

OK boys,

With any luck, Popcan is going moose huntin' this fall!


After much deliberation and research, I just put in for my first ever LEH draw.

I don't know how this all works, but the odds in the area I put in for said about 6:1


If Haggisbasher hasn't cleaned out this part of the country over the last few years, maybe I can get something bigger than a grouse this year!

I was curious what a LEH was so I looked around & found this on the 'net.

"Limited Entry Hunting (LEH) are hunting opportunities created via a "lottery", and the details are found in the LEH Synopsis. Participation in the LEH draw is available to any resident of BC who legally possesses a BC Resident Hunter Number."

The purpose of Limited Entry Hunting is to achieve wildlife management objectives without resorting to such measures as shortening seasons or completely closing areas. It is only introduced where it has become necessary to limit the number of hunters, limit the number of animals that may be taken, or limit the harvest to a certain "class" of animal.
