Well I ordered today a Remington 700 SPS Varmint .308 today. I can't wait to have it. My local gun shop tell me they might have it in 2 day :)

I will top that whit a kalinka optic Po 8X56 for the moment since I am broke and I need to break in the barrel. I intend to switch for a falcon menace whit a 20 moa base afther, and afther that have it beded or completely change the stock I will se.

I wil also order a Bipod 6-9 inch

I think I might enjoy that one, it wil be diferent then my army surplus riffle.

I feel like a kid right now

That's a great gun for the money. Some people get lucky with them right out of the box (me included) and some do not. I've swapped out a lot of the stuff on it, but the factory action, barrel (26" still), and most of the bolt is stock still. This past Tuesday in the wind and cold temps at the 200 yard range I was shooting consistently under an 1" with it when I did my part. I'm VERY satisfied with it.

I should also note that it did take me quite a bit of work to come up with my accurate load for the gun. I found it didn't like a bunch of different bullets, but really loved the A-Max for some reason?! I love the A-Max too when me and the gun can produce 1" groups at 200! :)

Back from the gun shop..... and ... THat a cheap A** stock on thatthing I can't beleive that. I am going to the range tomorow 100 M whit out the bipod I will make a smal range report just for the fun of it

Well you figured it out before i could post. I saw it said you were maybe going to bed the stock. The SPS stock sucks on every one they sell. I changed my sps varmint to an HS precision and my sps stainless to an MPI fiberglass stock. You could hollow out the SPS stock and fill it with fiberglass and carbon arrow shafts. That would make it pretty ridgid. Sometimes aluminum bedding blocks are overrated.

wich would be cheaper if we compare the cost VS how good it wil work?

changing the stock to a HS one or guetting it beded and reinforced?

well it would be cheaper to bed and reinforce the stock probably, but I don't know if the improvement would be that great compared to an HS stock.

The HS stocks have an aluminum chassis making them much more rigid.

Both my .308s came with an HS stock, the LTR and 5R milspec, and they both shoot great.

That is the main difference between the LTR and the SPS line I think. The stock.

You aren't limited to HS stocks though remember, there are several other good stock makers out there.

If you want to support a CGN dealer and Canadian maker, think about Robertson Composites.
