First moose ever...from the NWT

Finally got my first moose! In the NWT they make you wait two years before being allowed to get big game tags, so it's been a long wait. This moose was strolling up the river when we spotted him. One shot from my TC 300 Win dropped him after he staggered a few paces.
Those few paces felt a lot further as my buddies and I slogged through knee deep mud packing him out. Lots of great meat to share, and lots of great arguing with the wife on where the antlers are going to go. Me=living room, her=basement!

North of Wrigley a bit. Got lucky and was on the river about 3 or 4 minutes before this one was spotted.
