First Muzzle-loader

That is exactly why I would buy a Savage if I was going to start ML hunting again, the extra deer season. But since the ML season here in SK runs at the same time as the waterfowl hunting season I just can't bring myself to crate the dog in favour of chasing jumpers.

I guess I don't feel the need for an extra deer season. And if I decided to hunt in a muzzle loader season I would still use a traditional muzzle loader over a modern in line.

I prefer the added challenge of using a traditional muzzle loader over the sure thing with a modern rifle. For me it is the "hunt" rather than the kill that makes it enjoyable.

I understand for many/most it appears it is the kill that is most important. Whatever floats your boat!

Hi Guys
If you want a great product for cleaning ML's try Gunzilla it's a one product cleaner that leaves behind a dry film that protects from rust and lubes it too. No more soap and water.

For me, muzzleloader season is a good chance to get out while the weather is still nice and there aren't as many people out and about. I want to get a new TC, but for now the Rem 700ML works.

I got to shoot one of those T/C Omega package guns - pretty accurate piece of work. Sights are decent, too. Nice high-vis fiber optic inserts, I had no problems nailing soup cans at 100 yards which is minute-of-deer for my eyes through irons.
