First parts for the New Build, Update she's done!!!

Well the first parts for my new build arrived this week. I bought a Stainless Savage LA with a custom bolt knob and Timney trigger from Juan Valdez. It showed up along with my custom dies from Defensive Edge. I've ordered a Shilen select match prefit 30" barrel in 338 Edge from Jerry, as well as a Score High single shot follower. I also ordered a Mcmillan A3-5 Adjustable stock. Stock and barrel could be another 4 months before I see them!

you bet on the brake!
Just talking back and forth with a few dealers on here to decide which brake. I want to tame that bark the most I can!
 
Man this waiting is killing me. I got my recoil lug pinned, also the single shot follower and the Farrell base have arrived. Still waiting on my barrel and stock. I've Bob ready to install the barrel and to build and install my brake when the barrel get's here.
Also I'm still waiting for my scope to get back from Zeiss, had them install target turrets on the rapid Z from my Sendaro. They've had it since Jan 5th!! At least I got the New Sightron for my VLP from Jerry, now it's raining so no gopher whacking today.
 
Nice! I have a 300 RUM is an A3 and a 338 Lapua in an A5. The A5 is a much more stable (and bigger) stock than the A3, but more suited to the big 338 IMO.
 
Well I just got my 30" shilen select match stainless barrel. Off to Custom Gunworx for the brake tomorrow. Now just to get that darn stock!! Six months and 4 days waiting for it from Mcmillan!

Well i got back from Holidays at Sturgis and my stock is finally here!! The brake is done and the barrel head spaced at the Smith's. Tomorrow I take him the stock for the final fit. I may have to open up the groove for the recoil Lug as I used a heavier stainless lug. Won't be long until it's done!!
 
I am planning on shooting it as a sigle shot so I put in a single shot follower from Mystic. If I want to shoot 225's they should fit in the mag, but not the longer 250's or 300's. I won't know my overall cartridge length until it's done and I start the load development, but am planning to shoot it as a single.
 
Sorry Gringo, had the stock less than 12 hrs and got it over to the smith. He's going to have it bedded for me for the weekend. I'll put pics up of the finnished product, pre and post scope installation. I should be fireforming brass by saturday!
 
Well she's done, except for mounting the scope, which is tomorrow nights project! Here are some pics without the scope. and a bit of a component list:

-Shilen 30" Stainless select match pre-fit barrel in 338 EDGE from Mystic Precision.
- mcMillan A3-5 ADJ stock, 2 pillars, OD green, sniper fill from 24hr campfire.
-Ken Farrel 20 MOA one piece base and Burris rings from Jerry (Mystic)
- Sightron SII Bigsky 6-25X 40 from Mystic (going on tomorrow)
-Custom muzzle Brake, installation, head spacing, action bedding, mount bedding, done by Bob at Custom Gunworx.



Dang Photobucket is ....ed tonight!! Will have to post pics tomorrow.
