First piece of the puzzle updated June 13

Upon arriving home from the field today there was a package on my table curtosy of Questar!

My Spikes Upper reciever!...this is the first peice i have for my new build (and the first piece of an AR that i have ever owned)

Looks awesome and i cant wait to get more bits!!!!

My custom control kit (take down pins, trigger guard, and mag release button) and engraved MOE grip should be arriving next week-ish

Now i just need to convince the wife to let me order the rest!

Your first build is always the best. Just take your time and you'll be fine. Make sure you buy a torque wrench that clicks. The other ones suck.

And given that i am on a tight financial budget for this and wife only gives me my allowance here and there i have alot of time to research.. Not going all out for this one (not getting the most expensive parts) mostly because this will be the first of many...i still want to build a 14.5 or 16" and then a 20" in .308 aswell

Whatever you do,
Make sure you don't just settle for something. Make sure you get what you want. First build or not, if your waiting anyways, you might as well do it right the first time. The last thing you want to do is look back at what you could of done. PM incoming for you.

That-a-boy! Lol! I'm guessing the 20" will be your long range rifle. That's a whole new big ball of expense. They are really sweet though. Your optics will be the killer expense.
