First pistol (Budget 500$)

Why buy new? Look for a good used gun.

I have to agree with this statement... I purchased on of the most accurate pistols i have ever fired and it was used... A used Caspian 1911 with a sweet trigger and a match barrel and bushing.. wow can that gun shoot...

Look for a good used gun... just as good as new and even broken in for you..

In the under 500 range you save very little buying used and risk people dumping their lemons. I suggest a new norc 1911.

Actually might be smart to get a .22 too for cheaper shooting so im now open to all suggestions :)

You can get a new Marlin XT22 for under $200 bucks...a cheap scope for 60 bucks and you can drive tacks at 50 yds, and get very respectable groups out to 100 yds. Bolt action single shot...will eat any ammo you throw at it. Shoot all day for 25 bucks.

Throw that in with the other stuff I recommended above and you will have 3 guns under your 1K budget.

Let's face it, if your budget is small then you will quickly run out of money shooting centerfire, as ammo cost quickly overshadows the cost of the gun itself. Do yourself a favour and get at least 1 .22 pistol and rifle. Hours of fun at a fraction of cost for ammo.

i first got a norc 1911a1 in the .45 because i saw the norc .45 ammo for the same price as AE 9mm. finally i got a m93 woodsman, its kinda cool for .22 and under 200$ landed. i also got a gsg conversion kit for my .45 which worked pretty well, i ended up just getting a full gsg pistol so all my mags would swap over and then i didnt have to swap slides over at the range (not like its that hard, i think i just wanted another gun lol). i also have an np-22 and norc hipower in trasfer at the moment.... lol. my dominion arms 12" 12g was my first shotty and i still have it, it just works and its cheap, i love it.

basically it feels alot better to pop off 6 clips of .22 for the cost of 1 clip of 9mm. the pop cans and bottles dont know the difference, either do the zombie targets. lol a couple clips of big stuff at the end of the day is all i need to satisfy my bigger gun shooting need.

They are magazines, not clips.
