Just purchased my first pistol (use a g22 at work). Should have it in a few days. Pretty pumped to see how it does at the range vs the 22!

Was debating getting the G34 instead, but decided to get the 17. Not a fan of how far the mag release sticks out on the 34.

You can change out the mag releases to long or short. Very easy to do anything on the Glocks. Check Youtube for some awesome disassembly and reassemby videos. Educational.

you can still make your 17 a 34 by just getting a g34 slide and barrel....both guns share the same receiver, except for the extended mag and slide stop

Congrats on the new gun let us know how you like the RTF I wasn't a big fan of it when I held one but I usually put grip tape on anyway happy shooting!

hey King, I've got the G17 RTF and love it. Good choice IMO, enjoy. I see your post is 2 days old, so I'm sure you've picked out your 2nd gun by now, no?
peace...

I think as far as the grip goes, you will either love it or hate it. I find that with a long day at the range, my work gun, which is a standard g22, tends to get a bit slippy. I'm not a fan of the sleeves that can be used to slip over grips, and I didn't want to use tape. Hopefully the rough grip doesn't chew my hands up, but they are kinda like boot leather so not too worried.

I've only ever shot 40 cal,a 45 1911 and a 50 cal desert eagle in vegas is you want to count that. Never shot a 9 so I am interested to see how it goes. Prolly a lot less pop. At the end of the day I went with the 9 because I want to put alot of rounds downrange with it, and bullets will be cheaper.
