Glock 34 is a great bet, Shoots like a dream, lightened trigger pull, extended controls from the factory, and is geared perfectly for idpa/odpl, could probably run it in ipsc too if you wanted. Not sure if they make a .22 conversion kit for the 34, but you could get the glock and conversion kit for under 1500 if you wanted.
